Year End Newsletter

As we approach the end of 2024, we can’t help but reflect on your faithfulness in expanding the scope and influence of the Oceanside High School Foundation through your donations and support.

We have been encouraged this year to meet many current and former OHS students and faculty and hear stories of how their experiences at OHS have helped them in innumerable ways.  We hope, as we continue to expand our website, to share these stories and news with all of you.

But let me add this…we still have hundreds, maybe thousands more OHS alums we would like to unite with and need your help.  This is the season of celebrations, togetherness and spreading joy (so please spread the word about the OHS Foundation too!).  As you connect with former classmates, plan your class reunions, or just have your informal get-togethers, encourage others to join the Foundation, and at a minimum, please sign up for our monthly email newsletter.

As we reflect on the progress we have made this year, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for being a part of the Pirate family.   We are deeply grateful for your support and the difference you make in our OHS Pirate community.

• This year, your OHS Foundation contributions have awarded over $40,000 in scholarships to graduating OHS Seniors. This provides much needed financial support as they continue with their post-secondary education.
• This year, your OHS Foundation contributions have granted over $4,000 in faculty grants to teachers to enhance their educational classroom experiences.
• Your OHS Foundation contributions have supported enhancement projects around campus highlighting the school environment.
• Your OHS Foundation contributions allowed the OHS Foundation to sponsor and host the annual Hall of Fame program and the ever-growing and popular All-Class Reunion.

We cannot do this without generous donations from people like you!

While reflecting on the past year, we look forward to the new one and ask you to please continue supporting the OHS Foundation by either making a donation, sponsoring a scholarship or faculty grant or by becoming a member.   This will help us continue offering the OHS community the much needed and appreciated support that allows OHS to thrive.  

There’s still time to give before we say goodbye to 2024.Your generosity powers the OHS Foundation, which help to remove barriers to education.  Those who give back to OHS reinforce our strengths in teaching students and creating opportunities.  On our website, take a look at our mission, vision and goals; at our scholarship and faculty grant recipients, at our many scholarship donors, at the efforts we have done on campus…we are the mighty Pirates at work and it can only be done with your support—become a member today, attend our meetings and see what more we can accomplish in 2025 and beyond.
