Jerry was retired and lived  in Carlsbad, Ca.   Jerry Palmquist was a second-generation teacher. Palmquist Elementary School was named after his father.  Jerry graduated from Oceanside High School in 1961 and began as a teacher at his alma mater in 1974. He taught, coached and served in many different capacities at OHS.  He touched many lives while at OHS and he will be missed. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Jane, his son, Leif, and daughter-in-law, Marisa, and three grandchildren.

His life was celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2025 with family, friends and the OHS community.   A beautiful tribute was given to a man who had a big heart that taught and coached thousands of students during his teaching and coaching career at OHS.
