Celebrating Willie Buchanon

The Generational Black Pioneers presents a compelling production that celebrates the extraordinary life of Willie Buchanon, an Oceanside native, NFL star, OHS Foundation Hall of Fame inductee and community leader. This special event will take place from February 25-26, 2025, at Oceanside High School and El Camino High School, bringing together a rich tapestry of personal triumphs and historical events from the 1950s to today.

Through live storytelling, dramatic reenactments, and multimedia presentations, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of Willie Buchanon’s journey from Oceanside to the NFL and his contributions as a trailblazer during pivotal moments in Black history.
